"... the honor of kings is to search out a matter." Proverbs 25:2
"The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: ..." Proverbs 15:28
Considering Scriptures of great warning for those who add to or take away from God's words such as in Deut. 4:2;12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Rev. 22:18,19 - it would seem of vital importance to search out the matter and study to answer.
Below is a list of over 140 Scriptures that compare 4 popular translations: The King James Version (KJV), New International Version (NIV), the New American Standard Bible (NASB), and the New King James (NKJ).
Though not an exhaustive list, it can be used as a general reference to compare any version since many times other versions share these similar differences since they used source manuscripts (Vaticanus and Sinaiticus ...) that varied from those used for the KJV - the Masoretic text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament.
Bible versions may vary from printing to printing as new editions come out. If the wording in your Bible does not match these references, you might suspect this to be the case.
In order to own copyrights, the written work must be "different enough" from any other work..
