"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem"
Jerusalem means "city of peace," and yet so many wars have been fought there, it does not seem live up to its name. Perhaps this is why we are called upon to pray. It is a hotspot in the world because of the many prophecies which predict that the LORD himself will come to rule and reign there.
In this video, you will perhaps reflect along with many Jews as they gather at the Western Wall for their Memorial Day services ... commemorating those who have died in previous wars ... and sing their national anthem, "Ha Tikvah,"
as armed guards seek to secure the area.
To start the day, however, Jerusalem's early morning air is filled with the musical notes from church bells which ring from its many belfries. In addition to them, the day is also filled with Islam's call-to-prayer from their towers.
You'll take a walk through parts of the Arab and Jewish Quarters of the Old City. On Shabbat you'll hear singing in a Jewish home in celebration
of the Sabbath.
Also, you'll go to the Garden Tomb where groups from many nations gather to sing in their native tongues and remember the resurrection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Some share their thoughts and prayers for Jerusalem's peace.
In the song, "Watchmen," from Isaiah 62:6, 7 and Psalm 122, - "I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem," you will see many of the walls which surround the Old City, some with the reminders of previous wars from the bullet marks engraved upon some of them.
Why are the walls so important? One of the gates of these Old City walls,
the Eastern Gate, is where the Messiah is predicted to
come through when he returns. He will rule from Jerusalem.
Runtime: 28 mins.
